Our commercial litigation practice is nationwide, representing clients across the country in state and federal courts involving a wide variety of complex disputes, arbitrations and alternative dispute resolution matters. Cases include major multi-party construction litigation, breach of contract, RICO, injunctions, and various real estate disputes.

Because we also have an active commercial transaction practice, we are well-versed in the intricacies of the defining instruments of a transaction, in particular with AIA-based contract documents, that arms us with a distinct advantage in litigating complex construction disputes and advising our clients as to the scopes of legal responsibility of the various team members. The depth of our knowledge and experience in both litigation and development enables us to handle sophisticated client demands with agility and personal attention, avoiding the bulky and costly over-staffing all too common in larger firms. 

Commercial Transactions/Business Law

We represent various clients in a wide variety of contract and corporate transactions.  We negotiate retail, office and industrial leases on behalf of both landlords and tenants.  We assist clients in acquisitions, financing, operations and disposition.  We advise on choice of legal entity issues and guide clients through the formation process, whether corporation, LLC, partnership or other legal entity.  We draft operating agreements, partnership agreements, shareholder agreements, buy-sells and contracts for the full range of business issues including non-competition and other employment agreements, tortious interference claims, trade secrets, and environmental issues.

Hospitality Law

We are proud to represent some of Chicagoland’s most popular restaurants and hospitality establishments.  Through most started quite small, many have become quite large and several are renowned.  As always, our mission is to provide the legal guidance to enable our clients to focus on what they do best.

Real Estate Law and Tax Liens

Our real estate practice is diverse and extensive, including property development, Illinois land trusts, title insurance, condominiums, foreclosure, and bankruptcy.  We represent developers, owners, general contractors, subcontractors, tenants and owners of retail, industrial and multi-family properties across the United States.  We assist business clients in annexation, zoning, leasing, financing, governmental economic incentives and property disposition.  We also have an active practice in tax lien purchases, sales and financing
